Using Facebook for business.....

I just heard on Good Morning America that there are now 350 million Facebook users. That's crazy! And it's free!

Does anyone else on here use Facebook to generate business whether it be for a detailing business or any other? If so, what are your techniques and suggestions?

I'm just looking for new approaches for my business model for 2010.

There are some online sellers like AG and Detailers Domain that have Facebook pages. They use them as just another way to keep them on your mind since when they post stuff it shows up in your news feeds.

Ive made a group for my services and sent out invites to everyone on my friends list. But I realized they are basically all my age so being a college student they dont have that kind of money yet.

Just make sure you focus on the car enthusiasts and the adults.

Thanks guys.
I have 300+ contacts and most are of my age or older (33). I'm going to do some research. I'm thinking it will act like a "pyramid" because what I add should show on their profile and the friends that I have not added on theirs, should see it too.

Any more suggestions are welcome.

I wouldn't sink too much time and effort into it, afterall Facebook will probably be replaced by something else in a year. I'd put more time into something more tangible, such as local car clubs or something similar.

I've been asking myself that all weekend.

Since groups look similar to Facebook Pages, what’s the difference between them?
Groups and Pages serve different purposes on Facebook. Groups are meant to foster group discussion around a particular topic area while Pages allow entities such as public figures and organizations to broadcast information to their fans. Only the authorized representative of the entity can run a Page.

I have been stepping it up as far as business goes. I have a newsletter that goes out and now the facebook page. The idea is to always be in front of my customers.

Time will tell if the effort is worth it.

YES! It is worth it. I have booked a number of jobs from my Facebook group !!
