Neighbor has a '97 Camaro SS with a white convertible top. Cleaning is not the issue, it's keeping it as white as possible has been next to impossible. Any ideas as to what would work without damaging the fabric?

white convertible top
i am detailing a 96 sebring that has a white convertible top. its obvious that its not been cleaned very often if at all. the majority of the area is cleaning up nicely using apc diluted 4:1 and a brush.its the isolated areas i am having trouble with.the areas that possibly have pressure put on them when the top is down. any suggestions? i have never done a vinyl top let alone a white one. i'm not sure what results are obtainable or even how much extra should be charged. any and all advise will be greatly appreciated.

I had a client who once owned a Olds Cutlass convertible (red with a white top and white leather interior)
I used bon ami cleanser and a brush to clean a small section at a time. It was effective in keeping the top clean. It was a "toy" that was put on the road in mid April and taken off the road in November, so it never saw winter.
I detailed it once a month for her, mostly becuase of the white interior and the top. She now has a silver Lexus SC430, which gets detailed two ot three times a year.Meguiar's Fire/Rescue/EMS, member of the Church of the Highly Reflective Finish!

With a vinyl top, you have a lot more options. Try any basic vinyl cleaner. For protection, Raggtopp makes a protector specifically for vinyl tops, although, frankly, I would think that something like Tech Protect, etc., would be at least as good.
