  • Keep the Price Up!

Hey Guys and Gals! Soakin' Joe here, I just want to stress the importance of keeping your prices where they should be. Your pricing should reflect your work and your work reflects you as an individual. Don't get pushed around. Remember you are the expert! Don't be afraid to ask for what you deserve. This will keep you happy with the work you do.

Good advice. I think i have lost a few potential jobs because i was higher than some of my competitors. However i have seen some of my competitors work and it is not very good. I had one guy take his truck to a different detail shop than brought it to me to fix their mistakes. Swirls and holograms. I explained to him what these guys didnt do. He still complained a bit about my price but when he saw the end results was extrmemly happy.

That's good advice, it just doesn't always work. You're service area and clientel will determine your pricing. When I was in Florida, I could charge much more than I currently can in Southern Colorado. I'm in a farming community with the average income in the low 20's. People can't afford to pay what I charged in Florida. If I stuck to my guns, I would be without work. Stinks, but its reality.

          Colin,

Your Logo looks great! Great style and color. I'm not sure where Del Norte is exactly but lots of FL residents are leaving the state so hopefully they are relocating to Del Norte.

          Good luck,

I did a detail on a Lincoln Navigator and an Audi the other day for $160.00 to match price of someone else. Hated to do it that cheap but I think it turned out good for me seems one was a company car and the other was the owners. He had his corvette done somewhere else for $80.00 and they did an awful job then parked it outside in the rain leaving water spots all over he called me to come fix it gave me all his car cleaning products and $50.00 free drinks and said he has 6 other cars a motorcycle and a boat he wants done once a month, and has friends with really nice cars like mercedes lexus all that he will send my way, so all in all I guess doing the 2 cheap turned into a good investment for me.

Thanks, Joe. I'll take whatever help I can get, even if it means having FL residents move here.
