There's a caveat with discounts for first time customers.
Let's say you offer a discount for one of your first time customers. When that same customer comes to you in the future and inquire about your service, he or she is most likely going to demand the same discount you have given him/her previously.
Why? Because the norm in the service-providing sector is that you always give discounts to returning customers.
Also, if the customer comes to you the second time and ask for a discount. Are you going to deny that request? If your business is new and demand for your work is scarce, are you going to risk losing a business for not granting a discount for a returning customer?
Just something to think about. -

Why not offer a discount to returning customers? Why not offer new customersa 100% satisfaction guarantee? They pay nothing if not satisfied.Art Layton

the only discounts i give is to family and friends... everyone else, charge what you would charge... then if theyre a repeat customer.. then you can take care of em how youd like.. atleast thats how i do it.. but i dont do this so much for a living... just extra spending money for the month- Markito -Comment

Don't offer discounts.
Give out coupons instead. And make sure that they have an expiration date. Everyone knows that a coupon is a one time deal and time limited.Comment
