  • Paying it forward and other business incentives

Just wondering if any of you offer significant discounts for active duty and retired military? In addition to doing a good turn for the men and women serving our country, something like that posted prominently on the homepage of your websites would have to be good for general business. Personally, if I were in the market for a paint correction, seeing a coupon link offering discounted services for military would help sway my decision to use that detailer.

Or discounts for the elderly and retired fixed income folks. An AARP discount perhaps? I wonder if AARP would allow you to display their logo or list you as an approved AARP partner? People look for emblems of trust when they seek services like automotive detailing, something they might be a member of or at least recognize as a national organization focusing on their specific needs.

Same thing with AAA. Triple A lists mechanics, car rental companies, and hotels as AAA affiliates. Has anyone checked into whether they will extend an affiliation to automotive detailing? Offering an AAA discount would generate all sorts of new and return business.

Senior discounts are often done for home improvement projects. I wouldn't bother with AARP honestly, just advert a Sr. discount (10% off or something).
NOTE: Post count does not reflect actual detailing knowledge.

For a simple yet thorough wash , spray wax, tire and trim dressing I will do it for free for senior citizens that come to me, but I usually do it on the weekends only.

If I do a full detail I cut the price in half.

I'm seriously thinking about starting up a side business and seeing how that goes before taking the next step.
I was thinking about how to go about this and this is something I came up with.

Emergency Services (PD,FD,EMS) 15% off any detail
          Active Duty, 25% off
          Retired/Vet status, 50% off
Servicemember redeploying back to the states, Free detail of their choice.

Also thinking on special rates for detailing emergency vehicles (open house, parades, ect..)

I would gladly pay it foward to these folks, they go through more then anyone could possibly know and I think it would be a great way to say THANK YOU!
For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.
