You will notice if you get the chance to use both the white clay from the SS clay kit and the blue mild clay that the blue works much faster than the white.

(hope I didnt sound rude or arrogant, just read it and dont want it to come across that way )
I find that with better lubricity I know when to stop working an are quicker. Maybe its a psychological thing, though I understand what you are saying. The quicker it hydroplanes across the paint, the quicker it picks up the contamination and the quicker you are done amirite? Like I said, it could be psychological.

No that does make sense, I do something similar using a tip I got from Nick Chapman. When I clay I hold the clay with three fingers (pointer, middle, and ring) and let my thumb and pinky lighty touch the paint around the clay. This lets me feel when I am done.

If you are asking if the quicker if moves the quicker it picks up? I am not totally sure. Im going with no because if you look at the aggressivness of clay, a few times with the red clay on really bad paint will go a lot faster than using the SS clay for the same paint no matter how fast you move the clay. I think its the effectiveness of the clay picking up the contaminents that determines how quickly it goes.

I haven't used aggressive clay yet, in fact I need to buy some for an upcoming detail. I'm going to detail my friend's '55 Plymouth as a promotional deal for some good word-of-mouth advertising. His paint is in need of a claying that I can see the contaiminents. It looks like someone put ground black pepper all over his car. It's terrible. I'm going to do a wash, clay, partial correction with M80 (its SS) and a nice coat of wax. He's going to be thrilled when he sees the shape of his car.

I'm going to go camera crazy on this one. The car has a lot of problem, some rust spots I can't do a thing about, but it really is a beautiful automobile and with a little bit of TLC it can shine like anything out there. Unfortunately the guy knows next to nothing about detailing; he lets his niece wash the car with Mr. Clean and has some kind of cloth drenched in petroleum distillates that he rubs enormous amounts of paint off with to fix scratches. Frankly, it makes me cringe.

I really didn't think he would be doing any kind of correction , Just hand wash and wax if you add claying to it i would charge 95-110 for a car and 120-130 for a truck

                    Sensible prices, I like that.

Thats dirt cheap, what kind of wax do you use?

I charge $70 for a wash and wax, but I use NXT, so my prices have to be a bit higher
