  • Just Frustrating Paper Work, Need Help

Is there anyone who is currently running a Mobile Detailing business that could guide me to fill out all the proper paper work?
I'm beginning to become very flustered because I spent 6 hours today downtown asking around and not one person could help me.

    Thanks
    Max

Remember, the government. (paid for by your tax dollars). is there to help you!

It can be frustrating sometimes dealing with governmental agencies so try to remember that you catch more flies with honey.

What areas are you having problems with the most?

Instead of linking a bunch of sites, I'm just going to link to the google search!

Also look for gov. assistance for small business start ups...

Re: Just Frustrating Paper Work, Need Help

I tried giving Google a try but each states and counties rules are different. Right now im looking for a overview of where to start.
I asked about 4 ladies at the business development office and non of them had could help me or give me any idea.

I plan on starting a mobile car detailing business, not a shop based.

        I'm at Step one basically,
Do I need to set up a bank account for the business first? Basically who do I need to talk to or fill out what form first.

There's a ton of reading to do, but I would start with these two links.

For me, I registered with the state of Florida and needed that registration number to take to my local city hall to get a Tax Permit (occupational license). That's it. I'm sure if I call around enough another government agency, say the county, will want money from me too for this or that. If I missing something for the county I'll wait until they catch me and play dumb.
By the way, state registration here was $50 plus certified copies for $30, I think? City was less than $30.

I know that many local Chambers of Commerce are dedicated to assisting new startup businesses with all of the paperwork and navigation of permits. Try the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce

Specifically their SCORE - Business Development Counseling program

SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is a nationwide non-profit association providing free personalized business counseling. SCORE Chapter 550 is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and supported by the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce and is comprised of volunteers serving Grant, Blackford, Jay, and Wabash counties. Business counseling sessions are scheduled on Wednesday mornings at 9am and 10am. To schedule an appointment, contact the Chamber at (765) 664-5107.

I called my city hall and was told getting a license is the last step... I basically need to write a business plan with everything I will use and how I will use it, water reclamation (in case the sites I go to don't have proper drainage) etc. I'm working on the plan now and will soon make it an LLC then head to the city for the license
