  • Exterior, Interior & Engine pricing...

The other day I asked about pricing for headlight restoration by using Meguiar's new Headlight Restoration Kit, and some of you replied to it.

So after spending so many hours of researching things here at MOL, talking to some of MOL members, spending mad money from 2 orders at Rick's ADS, getting my facts right, and getting ready to start doing my cars the right way and then make some money on side (beside my daily job as CNC Supervisor & hobby/part time job by making graphics).

Last thing (hopefully) that I need to do is to figure out prices what I am gooing to charge friends/relatives, etc.

I know that some folks already posted their packages here at MOL, but some will keep it as secret, so to help me out please post what do you charge on average for following detail work(s):

    1. Exterior
    2. Interior
    3. Engine

    thanks in advance, Ned

i dont think you can really do a "full detail is XXX from A-Z" because different vehicles need different amounts of attention. for me (just getting started again) i charge 50 for a 2dr car, 60 for a 4dr car, 65 for an SUV like an explorer, 75 for expedition, 85 for excursion. that is for wash/clay/wax. added steps are 30-40 extra each step....not sure if that helps your question any, but thats what i charge ...i was also looking around to see what others charge, so i will be checking up on this thread

Well you cant really post a direct payment, but if you are asking because people have been curious than I would say you need to factor in a couple things. Things such as what other detailers around you are charging, how much you want to make an hour, and how bad or good the car you are doing is.

That being said, I wont state my price but I wouldnt do any kind of full correction work for less than 200 and that would be a starting price, I might actually do more than that so you can make some good money. When giving quotes another thing I like to do is oh so slightly quote a little higher so that way I can usually tell them that it was a little cheaper than the original quote. Also, it helps so that if it does take more time or you need to charge more it doesnt seem like you are overcharging.
