I just recently have an opprotunity to do my father inlaw's motorcycle. I am not going to charge him anything, but what do you all think would be a fair price for a motorcycle?

Depends on the bike and amount of Chrome. Some of them can get very time consuming.
What type of bike is it?
I think I charged $175 for this bike and had about 4-5 hrs into it.
I have only done 2 paid jobs and my old bike but I would recommend charging by the hour because the client can get picky with each and every crevice and you'd be amazed how long it can drag sometimes to get every crevice perfect... when going by the hour, you basically go from more general to more detailed work, and it always fits the client's budget
Depend on how bad is it and what are you doing to do.
Can you tell the year/make/model and the condition the bike is?
He actually has two one is for sale. Both of them are Hondas one is a 750 and I do not know what the other one is. Both are in excellent condition. My mother-inlaw did one of them after my father-inlaw was quoted 80 bucks. I think he was just wanting wash dry and waxed/ chrome polished.
