I have a quick question regarding websites. Does it cost money or a fee to make a website? I was debating about making one for my detailing services but didn't know if it costs money. What website do I have to go on in order to make my own? What does everyone here use?

Try http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/ you can build your web site for free buy you have to pay for a custom domain name or use the free one they give you.

Check out net firms.

They have a decent deal on right now. Its like 5.95 a month and then it goes up after the first year to 12 or something. Then you could switch or cancel... 10 a month seems pretty standard. It starts going up from there, but for what you need, a basic hosting service will get 'er done.

Then get yourself some web creating software. I found one called Web easy for about $70. Makes it very eay to create and upload your site (well not EASY, but fairly straightforward if you're somewhat computer savy) I grumbled for the first hour or so, but once I got used to the program it is fairly simple. You can use one of the 100 templates and just plug in your info and you're done, but I wanted more of "my own" feel to it.

I'd estimate spending at LEAST 8-10 hrs if you want a decent design and are fairly used to using any type of design software. More if you're unframiliar or are wanting a more complex site.

Mines almost done. hoping to have it up and running this weekend. I 'll post here when I do.

For inexpensive domain registering www.GoDaddy.com
is pretty good and for a low cost but full featured hosting company check out www.dayanahost.com

I've used both of the above for years with no problems.

Then try to find a domain name that you can also use as your business name, like
