  • Off topic question...

My detail shop is finally ready....But I have no heating Source for the coming winter months....

What do you guys use for your heat source? I dont want to install Central heat and Air...

Im looking more towards a stand alone unit but something affordable...Any suggestions?

    what do you use?

P.S...My shop is almost 4000 Sq ft with only 1000 currently being used...Not worried about the other 3000 yet....

I would suspect portable heaters would be your only option.

            Re: Off topic question...

Since this is heating question not a detailing question. I hope a newbie's experience is OK.

I have a high speed 1500W electric heater with fan, an electric oil filled heater that looks like a old fashioned radiator and a humidifier.

I turn on all of them to heat the area fast. The moisture from the humidifier holds heat and transfers it to the walls, etc., so you have got convection, conduction and radiant heat transfer going for you.

When it gets up to the desired temp. I personally turn off the fan and humidifier. The convection from the radiator is passive and very stable.

However, now it is a detailer question: is blowing dust, humidity, etc.....an issue. And other issues I haven't learned yet

Seldom I get to give back. Hope I just did, thanks
