  • Getting into the business

I have been kicking around the idea for a while of starting my own detailing business. Licensed, insured the whole works. Still not completely ready but am starting to get answers and get my ducks in a row. How do I go about opening a wholesale account? Is there a minimum first purchase? I also want T-Shirts, Aprons, etc for advertisement. Any information would be appreciated.

If you haven't already, be sure to read the article linked to in the below thread,

Getting your Mobile Detailing Business Started the Right Way

As for buying your products in bulk wholesale, for Meguiar's products you need to contact a PBE warehouse and ask them what their requirements are for an initial purchase, usually it's pretty high but they do vary so it's worth investigating.

Next look for a detailing supply store in your area and check out their prices and product availability.

Next look for your local PBE store and see if you can set up an account with them and if they will offer you a discount since you're a legit business.

There's also online supplies with some pretty competitive pricing...

As for shirts and aprons, there's some threads in this forum about shirts and most shirt suppliers can also get you aprons and of course Meguiar's has aprons available and you can get these from whoever you get your Meguiar's products from.

Hope that helps to get you started...

I think some get by all of us. I've seen a ton that I miss and I'm on here a lot! Especially when I'm on Night shift, I see a lot and miss a few.

        Good information though.
