  • One Huge Detail Job Video

Hey all...we just posted a video on our site that covers a detail project we were contracted to perform a couple times now up in Seattle Washington at Boeing Field.

For those that dig detailing or like aircraft...this may be a something you enjoy! For those that complain about detailing a big SUV...this may make you re-think complaining

We are new to this on-site video thing and are working on installing software for easier load up on our part and better viewing for those visiting our site and once that new software is perfected on my part...we will provide a few cool detailing vids here and there on some of the projects we work on.

Your comments are appreciated and follow this link to check it out!

Edit: In keeping with our forum rules we've modified your post so the link is no longer clickable. (Rule #8) -Mike Phillips

Re: One Huge Detail Job Video

      Hi Renny,

Just watched the entire video, that's a huge project to tackle and my hats off to you and your team for stepping up to the challenge, if you ever need help doing an aircraft like that again, please do not call me, I got tired just watching the video.

We have a forum rule against posting links that the poster has a vested interest for commercial gain. In fact we removed a link to a video on YouTube this week because the video promoted the detailing business of the poster.

So we have to be careful that links to videos on YouTube or any other site are not also links for commercial gain or for the intended purpose of making a profit.

The biggest reason for this is that while many posts in the big picture will be harmless, but it creates a president that could be used by someone to actually post outright commercial posts and site the president.

That all said, we think many of our forum members will find it interesting to see how much work is involved in detailing an aircraft of the proportions of the one in your video.

Because the forum is continually evolving and our forum rules are fluid, that means were open to changing the rules or modifying them as the need or conditions change around us.

So we're going to sit tight on this until we have a chance to discuss with my Manager and our Super Moderator, Tim aka 2hotford.

      Over and out!

Here's the link to the forum rules,

        Forum Rules

Here's the rule that we need to look at and discuss internally and then make a decision on.

        8. Clickable Links Are Allowed. However, self-promoting clickable links are not allowed and will not be tolerated in messages. Note: self-promoting links are allowed in signature Lines once a member reaches Level 2 Privileges.

Again we want to balance good and helpful content, (videos), but at the same time we can set ourselves up as an open forum for people to promote their business or products.

          Hey Mike,

Thanks for clarification on the rules and guidelines and had this been a video to promote us vs. educating the greater population of detailers on what one can do when they set a goal and aim high...that is why I put the link to this page that has no sales pitch or gain other then to show a project that a "car guy" was able to land.

                  Hey Renny,

I just watched the video; it would be quite the honour to be asked to detail the President's jet!

Yet, the link/video does violate the rules; however this case is special. The content is such that it over rides the advertising generated from posting it...therefore, for now we are going to leave it on the site as we believe everyone will appreciate the content.

Thanks Tim and to all the others for the compliments and I am very pleased that at least a few so far have been able to enjoy what we worked so hard to accomplish on this project.

Tim, as both you and Mike mentioned, this is not your everyday detailing project and by far one of the rarest projects one can be entrusted with so I was just excited to share the facts with other "car guys".

What ever is decided...you have my full support! Thanks again for the great site and for the ability to take part within the forum...Happy Detailing all!

I was invited to join the team to polish those historic aircraft. I unfortunately I was unable to go. I was flattered just to be just asked.

Joe...we missed you being there and when we do a biggy such as this in the future...you will get the an invite once again!

Our team did a great job and it was a first to invite others from outside of our company along on a project. All involved I had trained so we had worked together before but never at this level! This fact was a tad of a struggle as eight detailers were new to our systems. Nevertheless, the crew did a great job and Joe you and I are bound to work a project together one day!

I would like to work with you and Mike Phillips on something one day...would be great to see what we could do to a car jointly! What ever happened to the Bat Mobile...I even told Adam West about the project...Adam was one of my first clients years ago...if it comes up again...I am in! Excited to see you demo the 105 in June Joe...see you then bigger dog!

But...I am no top dog...a big dog maybe...woof!
