  • Mobile question..

Those that do mobile detailing, how do you deal with the sun/heat if the client doesn't have a garage or you are detailing his car at his workplace?

Most detailing products say the car must be cool and/or not in direct sun when applying.

If you're mobile it's probably a good idea to have an EZ Up with you or try and find a shaded area & park there if possible. All I could think of right now.

EZ-Up Canopy, Costco usually has a good deal on a quality canopy, some come with side curtains some don't, try to get one with side curtains that way you have them if you want or need them.

If it's windy, keeps some 5-gallon buckets with you, at least 4 and after setting up the canopy fill the buckets with water, (water weighs about 8lbs per gallon so 4 5-gallon buckets will give you 160lbs of weight to hold the canopy from blowing around. Buy some Bungee cords to anchor the buckets to the frame of the canopy.

That's a suggestion that's worked for me, your mileage may very.

Never thought of the bucket idea. Sounds pretty good!

I use the EZ up canopy as well, it works great to keep the sun off the car. I agree with Mike that you want one the side curtains if you can. Mine doesn't have them and I know that when I need a new canopy (which will be this spring) I will make sure that it has side curtains.

I have tried using the buckets to hold the tent down and it never worked for me. This idea of bungie cords is genious thought, I don't know why I never thought of that. You just know so much Mike, you just continue to amaze me.

By the way, the tent also doubles great when it happens to be raining out. My tent has probably seen more use in the seattle rain than the sun Oh how I long for that California sun you all talk about.
