  • Professional Detailing Technician's Association

Not sure if many are aware of the Professional Detailing Technician's Association but for those interested in an association for just detailers, and not big business carwashers -- check it out!

    PDTA

Maybe Meguairs would like to be a "Supplier Member" and contribute to this organization that will help lead the professional detailer into a more improved industry?!

I'll forward this to the appropriate person...

I think I've been reading about this on Autopia, I may have even been sent and e-mail or two in the past. It's hard to keep up with all of the activity.

Thanks for the vote but I'm not really concerned anymore about taking 1st or 2nd. 3rd place is perfect for me since it's from Auto Int. And we, the PDTA donated a prize.
1st is pretty much impossible to catch up to and 2nd place main prize (Glare) is too boutique -- not into that fancy sealant.

Mike, thanks for forwarding the email. I've posted the PDTA's information on a lot of forums to spread the word. We received a lot of positive feedback, while some forum members weren't so keen on such an association.

The PDTA was featured in: Auto Remarketing, Used Car News, soon to be Professional Carwashing & Detailing and America's Car Care Business magazine. It's for a very good cause!

Meguairs would be an excellent addition to our list of "Supplier Members."

          Brian,

1- What is the purpose of forming the Professional Detailing Technician's Association?

2- Why should a detailer join?

3- What are the benefits of being a member?

          4- What is the cost?

            Frank,

You already know this. All information can be found at the website: Professional Detiling Technician's Association

But here goes the benefits for our non-profit association:

-Business Insurance group coverage (like a Union)
            -Affordable Health Insurance group coverage
            -Buying groups for discounts
            -Networking opportunities
-Eventually training certification -- chapters throughout the country. Maybe Meguairs, Auto Magic, 3M, etc etc can offer a training system following certain standards and certifying graduation detailers.
-Annual conventions, golf outtings, dinners, awards, etc.
-Tried and tested detailing products -- give the "PDTA Seal of Approval"

We're always thinking of ways to benefit the detailer.

As for pricing, $100 - $150 a year to cover expenses. Right now, everything is being paid for by Jim H, myself and with a donation by Auto International.
            Take care,
