  • Cyclo Dual Head Polisher...??

My question is to anyone that has ever used one of these things (Cyclo Dual Head Polisher)....

I happen to get one for free but have not tried it. Can anyone give me any insight on these things as to their effectiveness, how to use it, if it is even worth using....

    Thanks,
    Bobby

    Hey Bobby,

THe Cyclo is the worst peice of equiptment you can have for your vehicles paint. Please forward the unit to me immediately! No sense in you hanging onto it for any longer than you have to

Seriously, Scottwax uses this machine religously. You might want to talk to him about it.

Let me get a plane ticket and i'll be right out there!

Maybe ScottWax will see this post or else i'll have to PM him. I have always used a rotary and recently bought a PC to see what it was like, and now I have this thing sitting in front of me....worst part is I don't have any pads to try it, so I want to make sure it's worth buying the pads....before I have to give it to Nick.

I bought two years ago and sold them on Ebay soon after. Fast forward three years and I have purchased another to give it a second chance because the PC is tearing up my hands and arms really really bad.

I am still not sold on it but I am still learning the machine.

heh, I hear ya about the PC. I bought one about 2 weeks ago, and I tried using it to take out defects w/ 83....omg my arm was numb after one time around the car.

So I take it that the cyclo won't shake me so bad that my teeth chatter???

You feel my pain! I bought my first PC over 12 years ago and use them daily!!

                  Bobby,

I have one and believe it does paint correction faster than the PC. The first thing I would do is to ditch the rubber velcro holders, and get some 3.5" backing plates. Cyclo pads work well, but I've had good luck with other brands. Vibration-wise its no where near as bad as the PC, but it does vibrate. Give it a try, I think you will like it!

The Cyclo definitely corrects paint faster than the PC does and it vibrates a lot less. It can be awkward on some cars that have weird angles so I switch to my PC for those areas.

I wish Meguiars would make 4" pads for the Cyclo, or spot buffing with the PC (hint, hint!) but I currently have switched over to the Edge system, which utilizes two metal posts that the two sized pads simply click into and out of place.

I've had a Cyclo for over ten years. They're really built to last. I only have two criticisms; it's hard to use in tight areas; its speed is not adjustable. I bought PC7424 about six months ago to use in the tight areas and now find I just use the PC for the entire car.
