does anyone have a good way to tell a client that in order to make his new car look like new i will probably remove his $650 paint sealant, without making him pissed at me?
3000 mile 06 black caddy cts with d.i.s.o. and scratches from his improper use of detailer. when i was done it looked like a mirror. i was happy!
i wish he would have called me before he bought that **** like most of my clients do!
    thanks guys!

Well, if they are bringing it to you because the recognize it looks bad, then you can probably mention that it is obviously not working.... Not the most tactful solution though...

So you've already detailed the car but he doesn't know, or realize, that the super-duper-impervious-to-everything-you-never-need-to-wax-your-car-again-$650-wonder-coating is now just a memory?

Hmmmmm......maybe ask him if perhaps he thought it was too good to be true when the dealer first mentioned it to him. He'll most likely say that was the case and feel a bit foolish at first but then be appreciative that you've shown him how a proper car finish care professional does things. No hype, no crazy promises, just good honest work. Hopefully he's just man enough to admit he erred when he caved to the sales pitch from the dealer.

If the customer does not bring it up, don't you. If he asks tell him you are re-applying an equally good sealant that will stand up to the conditions as the original sealant that was put on the car. Tell them the dealer will never know that is was re-sealed, in fact, this will make it even better.
