Just a quick update. I detailed out a Porsche Carrera and a BMW X5 this past weekend and I found that using both of these vacuums worked great. That is, I pulled the rugs out, and quickly vacuumed them using this handheld. Note this vacuum has powerful rotating bristle brushes at the front to lift up embedded dirt.

The powerful brushes are just as strong as a standup home vacuum cleaner--so it really get the rugs clean and does it fast.

Then I used the cordless wet/dry DeWalt with the crevice tool on the interior. I had no problems vacuuming the front, back, seats, and trunk area of the X5 with lots of power to spare. With no cord, it was very easy to get it anywhere I needed.

I have a Craftsman Wet/Dry/Blower vacuum I normally use but I also have a couple customers who are in parking garages and there are no electrical outless available and the management frowns on running generators in the garages. I picked up a Euro-Pro Shark Cordless vacuum at Target for $39.99.

I used it on two cars the other day, an '06 Charger that wasn't too bad and a Mazda Tribute that was loaded with dirt up front. It really did a pretty good job, the suction is suprisingly powerful and the rotating brush assembly did a nice job on the mats too. Seemed to give me about 15-20 minutes of service. According to the owner's manual, you get the best power and battery life if you deep cycle the vacuum 2-3 times (fully charge then discharge) so it may work even better next time. Seems to be a good unit for quick clean-up of regular customer's cars or in a pinch when there is no electrical outlet available and a generator is not allowed due to noise regulations.

15.6V handheld vacuum with twister cyclonic technology for superb suction
Detachable motorized brush removes stubborn pet hair and ground-in dirt from carpets and upholstery
      Washable filter detaches easily
LED indicates when the battery’s charging
Includes a charging stand, crevice tool and upholstery brush
      Hand Held
      15.6V Volts
      Detachable Motorized Brush, Rechargeable
      HEPA Filtration, Cordless
      UL Listed

This is the unit I use!

I picked it up about 2 weeks ago. It has a 7' hose and comes with all the attachments, which all stores neatly inside the lid.

Let me tell you this machine has some sucking power! It boasts on the packaging that it has the power of units twice it's size. It's all true! I love this thing.. It has a 5.0 hp motor, and holds up to 4.5 gallons. There are many different attachments you can buy for this unit.

I got it at Home Depot for $69.99

I would recomend these unit to anyone who's in the market for one.

Mine came with a crevice tool but it really isn't very long. However, usually by moving up the seats and using the brush attachment, I can get all areas under the seats.

Mine has been getting a workout on Tuesdays, I have regulars whose interiors are usually pretty clean. The Shark Vac cleans as well as my big vacuum but without the hassle of pulling out the larger vacuum and extension cord, plugging in and then putting everything away when I finish. Sames me a good 5 minutes per car.
