  • My customers are really loving...

    ...Meguiars Interior Quick Detailer.

One of the biggest requests I get is that I not use anything shiny on their vinyl. They are thrilled I have a product in my arsenal that leaves a 'like new' appearance instead of a fake shiny appearance.

Now if I could get it by the gallon with added UV protection...

Thanks to Meguiars chemists for coming up with a much needed product that makes me look good.

Agreed 100%. I would SERIOUSLY buy this by the gallon if it were made available. I find that I'm going through it faster than I am using up my 'exterior' QD sprays.

Actually, I've adopted it for use inside the house, too. I find it works great as an alternative to pledge for cleaning furniture where I don't want a "slimy" look, or where there's the infamous "glass and wood" joined together.

So yeah... between the garage and the house.... gallon sizes please!!

Well guys, I have assured that it will be made in gallons as I stocked up when Pep Boys had their sale. Thank me later.

Just to mention, I have had good success with the Nxt Tech Protectant. I have used it on gray and tan dashboards/trim.

I just spray on MF, and spread around, working my way around car. Then I get a clean MF after a couple minutes, and go back around the car buffing off.

It leaves the richest, no-shine look I have ever seen on my dashboard.

Some dash boards will shine no matter what you use. In my Ranger, #40 had a real nice satin look. I tried it in my Fusion and it's REALLY shiney. Even after wipe down it was too shiney. Same product, different glossiness. But having no UV protection, I really didn't want to use IQD. Now if it did, I wouldn't buy a gallon of it, I'd buy a 5 gal jug!

Showtime, I agree with the comments about different materials. That used to frustrate me to no end since I, too, like the natural look and no gloss on my vinyl, especially the dash.

With the ones that shine too much, I've gone back over them with a moist towel to try to refine the gloss down a level or two. #40 is nowhere NEAR as shiny as other products on the market, so I know it's the material and not the product.

I'm a natural shine user. I enjoy maximum shine on my grey interior, but it doesnt look good on black vinyl, imo. So, if I am detailing the interior of a black car, I usually dilute the natural shine.

I like #40 on my interior as well as my tires and rubber. On the tires it seems to have a nice natural black look and even lasts for a few weeks.

I was under the impression that the IQD had *some* UV protectant in it. At least that was posted when Mike first introduced the product....IIRC.

It also states this on the label of the bottle.

I LOVE IQD. The look it leaves on plastic, vinyl, wood, etc. is unbeatable. It makes everything look like new and the cleaning power of IQD is also very good. I recently cleaned a very dirty steering wheel with IQD. It took no time. The only thing I don't like about IQD is if you use it on leather it leaves a very slick finish which I don't like.

I agree, Great product with a great smell, as others stated a little UV would be nice.

The approach that we use with regard to dressings for interiors; engines and tires is to use only one, high quality water-based silicone product.

Sprayed on the engine and tires and left to dry it leaves a very high gloss.

However, on the interior we wipe it on with a dressings applicator pad and then immediately wipe it off. This leaves a nice "satin finish" without having needing to have a second product in your chemical arsenal.

Of course, you do not ever want to use a solvent based silicone dressing on the interior, leaves seats, steering wheel and pedals dangerously slick.

                            Hope that helps.

                            Regards
