I am sure the prep guy is talking about using a mixture of water and alcohol after polishing to remove any oil (glaze or other fillers) that would hide swirls temporarily. This insures that your turning out super high quality work.
Now you should clime down from your ego and go back and apologize to the prep guy and the painter for insulting them.

Sounds like you have some sort of issue with this guy.

I've merged this thread with the second thread on the same topic Detail Pro started.
Now I'll go through and remove every instance that Detail Pro called his co-workers names.
Remember Detail Pro, it's okay to hold another opinion, or in this case question what you've been told if it sound incorrect, but please don't come to Meguiar's Online and call people names. We won't allow it and it doesn't make you look good, or professional.
Thanks!

this guy just emailed me, too!
Hey this is detail pro from the meguiars web site. I want you to know that after 14 years in detailing I have never used that method. I never have an issue with swirls. My work always comes out flawless. That is why I am the Detail Pro
Jeez. The temptation to email him back is strong, but I think I won't. He appears to think too highly of himself.

I move to strike this whole thread from the forum. This one contains too many negative comments made about people and their professions. It doesnt' seem to fit with the Meguiar's rules that were posted earlier in the thread. It has no redeeming value.
Anyone second my motion?See the big picture, enjoy the details

Thanks Tim for closing this thread. Detail Pro is currently in Time out, at least for a while.
Meguiar's Online Discussion Forum isn't the place to call others names, its not only not nice, it's not professional.
We do our best to go above and beyond the call of duty to let people post what they will, but in very rare instances such as this, it's in the best interest of our members in specific and our community in general, to remove the thread from public view in an effort to maintain the high caliber and professional atmosphere Meguiar's Online is known for.
Thanks everyone for understanding.
