  • Gold Class Rich Leather

So i just bought this from autozone to clean up my leather a lil bit, but decided to test it out on my moms car first and i was very disappointed, it barily removed any dirt.. seems as if the Magic Eraser would have done better .. did i do something wrong? maybe i applied it wrong... i sprayed it directly on the seats then wiped off with a cotton towel

I use the spray to maintain the leather. I use the cleaning gel and the conditioning lotion (2 seperate products) to clean and protect the leather.

Leather is pretty hard to clean in the first place if you're talking about dirt that has built-up and really ground into the leather. If it's just light surface cleaning then that's pretty easy.

One of the best ways to clean your leather is to apply your cleaner to some type of applicator or to one side of a folded microfiber polishing cloth and then work the cleaner liberally and with some passion into the leather. After you've doe this wipe the surface down with a clean microfiber or terry cloth towel to remove any loosened dirt or excess product.

What are you working on and how bad is it?

Well on my moms car leather should be grey, but its more like dark grey but it wasnt helping much usin the spray.. would it work better if i let it sit on the leather for a few minutes before wiping it down?

On my car the leather is in pretty good condition, it is tan color so i dont think i will have a problem cleaning that.

          Try this,

Take a microfiber or a wash rag, fold it for ways, next spray enough cleaner onto the cloth to dampen/moisten one side with product, now take this one side and start working the product against and into the leather. Apply product as needed.

Turn the cloth over and look to see if you're seeing dirt transfer to the cloth.

When I do this with a white microfiber on the leather seats in our Pilot I always see dirt transfer. These seats are a light tan color. So even though I don't see a huge difference in the seat, I can see the dirt that has transfered to the cloth.

We do this about once a month for maintenance and care.

I've used a brush for really bad embedded dirt. I got it from a shoe store, it's meant for leather shoes so the brush is big and easy to use and the bristles are short but soft.

Well the GC LC "spray" your using isnt as strong as GC LC "step 1" cleans better and "step 2" conditions better.

When I detailed the 2000 Cadillac I used the detailer line leather cleaner/conditioner in 1. Well it just made the leather shinny - not clean.

So we had to improvise on the lovely white leather.

We used APC at a dilution of 10:1 so we wouldn't damage anything, lightly used the interior brush to "Scrub" away w/ the weight of the brush, and then we wiped it dry, and used the leather cleaner conditioner -

pics and more info here: http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...&threadid=8650

but once it's clean - your GC Rich Leather will work to it's full capacity.

                  good luck.

It is the best leather cleaner i have ever used.
Apply a thin layer of this cleaner to a small area let is sit for a minute or two, then use a brush and wipe off with a microfiber cloth. I personally use the GC spray as a conditioner.
You will be surprised with the results.
