how safe are PC?

hi, i'm thinking about buying a pc and i was wondering how safe they were?

i have a couple of friends who burned their paint buy using buffers. i've read that orbital buffers' won't do that, but i'm still a bit hestitant.

what speed is ideal for cleaning, polishing, and waxing? thanks.

btw, i've read somewhere that, meguiar's pc is the same one as PC model #7424P is the same. is that true? thanks.

Megs DA and PC is the same machine,the only difference is Megs has a lifetime warranty PC doesn't.
If you buy PC you will need a backing plate from Megs and pads IMO you better off buy them all from Megs.
I'm new to this too,but burning a paint with Megs DA or PC will be very hard,you'll have to keep the machine runing in the same place with a dry pad.
For $9.95 you can buy the Megs video everything you need is in there.

A while back I did see a video of someone who used it on his truck and tried to damage the paint by holding the PC in one spot for a length of time and nothing happened to the paint. He alos pushed down hard on the PC and bounced it around with no damage to the paint. Try any of that with a Rotary and you will have some extra work to do.

I wish I knew where I seen the video but I know it convinced me that it was safe and I picked one up sometime ago now with no problems!

Get one they are well worth it!
