  • NXT car wash, what's a good way...

sorry if there is already a post about this topic.
I'm using two 3.5 bucket for washing.
one for soap and one for clean water.
what a good technique for having best results of NXT car wash?
    how much to use?
    lots of suds, bubbles, etc.

    thanks.
my grit guard is on its way.

Looks like you have it under control there. In addition to what you have listed I use:

      Versa-Angle Body Brush

      Ultra Plush Wash Mitt

If you are already using the two bucket method and the grit guards are coming, there is probably no reason to get too carried away explaining what I do but I can try to touch on a couple of points.

For me, I use 1 oz. or 1 capful of soap for each gallon of water, as per the instructions. I don't want to go much heavier than that so as not to start pulling wax off. I don't know that it would, but why risk it. It does great at this ratio for me anyway. I fill the bucket about 1/2 full of water then add my soap then continue filling.

While washing, after having hit the cracks and crevices with the garden hose at full force, I dip the mitt in the clear water and swish it aroung pretty good. Then wring it out a bit then go for the soapy water. If you don't wring it out, it won't have room to pick up much soapy water. Anyway, from there I wash one panel. Then I flip the mit over on my hand and using the clean side I wash another panel. Then I go back to the clean water, and start all over again. In the meantime, I keep my garden hose end in my clean water bucket and while I am dipping my mitt, I take my free hand, grab the hose and give what I just washed an light rinse. Just enough to keep it wet and dillute the soap laying there.

I pretty much repeat this process until a whole side is done then I give that whole side a decent rinse. Then on to the next side and give that a pre-rinse before getting to work on that. I do the roof/hood/trunk & fron & rear windows before starting on the vertical surfaces. And I always try to work from high>low.

Once the thing is washed and has a decent rinse, I take the end of the garden hose off and sheet the water off for the final rinse. After this I usually go grab a cigar and let it drip off for a couple of minutes then break out the Leaf Blower and finish drying. After I have most of the water off, I usually give it a quick QD with Last TOuch and a Quick Detail Pad.

Also, I use the Versa Angle brush after everything else is done and use it for the underbody work where I would not want to risk getting any grit on my mitt. I pretty much just dip it in the clean water then the soap then hit a whole side then repeat for each side.

I'll not get into what I do with my wheels and wheel wheels. That was enough typing for this effort.
