Rotary vs PC

Now that Iuse my rotary for quite a long time, will it be worth to order a PORTER CABLE (or equivalent) or is that a waste of money ?

Beware that I live in Belgium, so I wil also need a transformer 110-220 volts and so, and then the total cost will be something like 350-400 $ before I can start using it !

I dunno how well it'd work with the transformer.

I'd either look into a similar product made for your voltage or get the Euro-spec CYCLO . Some people like me swear by them, but I gather that some people swear *at* them. Everybody has their own preferences....

That Cyclo loo's too unhandy for me, it look's that you can only do big panels with it.
I can do a whole car with my rotary, but I prefer to do the bigger panels with the rotary and finish it off by hand.
Maybe a PC would be usable for bumpers/small painted parts and so were a rotary can be tricky...

The PC works great via the transformer there are a lot over here in the UK with no problems

Blr123- OK, I'll keep that in mind. That'll be good news to a lot of people. I'd wondered because I"ve heard that when people use a US-spec Cyclo with a transformer it doesn't perform properly.

Wally- Heh heh, it's all just personal preference, but I use the Cyclo one-handed all the time and I'd *much* rather use it than a PC. I use it on small pieces all the time. But again, it's just personal preference and it's not like everybody has to agree with me

Bouncing back and forth between this thread and the one on the other forum, I'll say again that you really oughta get something like the PC. IMO you'll be very glad that you did.
