Dirt / smudge on ceiling

Hi,

I just detailed the exterior of my new car this weekend, it looks great but i forgot the camera so no pictures yet. Anyway I after cleaning/polishing/waxing the exterior i got inside and with i guess a more precise eye noticed a dark smudge / dirt on the ceiling. I think it was a dealer installed option. The material is cloth and a light tan color. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to how i should proceed. I'm thinking try water with a microfiber and if that doesnt get it then use some Heavy Duty Carpet & Interior Cleaner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just had a suzuki with a few black smudges in the headliner, took superior shines advice of using a 6:1 woolite mixture, a wash mitt and light scrubbing.. it took them right out.

i would suggest using the least harsh chemicals and only spot cleaning them by hand

Ihave had good success with the HD Carpet Cleaner. I sprayed it on a cloth, then dabbed, and lightly wiped the spot. Then did it a couple more times, and the smudges were gone.
