  • supreme shine microfiber versus ultimate wipe

    Hey.

Which is better -- the supreme shine microfiber or the ultimate wipe--for wiping off 83 and 82 after using them with the DA?

Also, why doesn't meguiars online store sell the ultimate wipes anymore?

    Thanks

Not sure which is "better" I prefer using the Ultimate Wipes for removing these products. I usually saved my Supreme Shines for final wipes after a QD or a final wipe after having removed an LSP.

And as for them pulling the Ultimate Wipe. I am looking in the E-store and can't find it either. I must be overlookng them.

I dunno. You could be right, hence the big product reduction with the Katrina E-Bay store. I noticed I don't think I ever did see any Supreme Shines or Super Plush Terry's on there.

Kind of glad I bought 4 packs of them. They are kind of handy.

The Ultimate Wipes have been discontinued. I have a single one that a friend gave me a couple months back, still wrapped, sitting on my shelf. One of these days I'll probably take it out and use it and wish I had purchased more when they were still available.

Hm... anyone know of any places still selling them pretty cheap?

I dont know but I know Autozone carries the exact same product. I saw one and ran out to grab an ultimate wipe to compare the 2. Identical in all respects but color. Trouble is you can't really get them in bulk there though. I think they were 2 per pack. Being able to buy from Meg's in the large packs was great for me.

Yeah, I really want to be able to pick up a 20 pack.

Check ebay under meguiar, only one hour left.

the ultimate wipes are only sold as a 20 pack and not individually, i believe. i personally like the ultimate wipe for the last final wipe down on lsp's (not to menton the edgeless seem), and the supreme shine mf for getting the bulk. the advantage on the supreme shine mf is... it's bigger, plusher and will absorb more product. i love them both!

A very similar towel to the Ultimate towel can be found at Stoner's website (you'll have to find it yourself, though).

For those who don't have both towels, the Ultimate towel has a very short nap on both sides, whereas the Supreme Shine is a larger towel and has one side with a long nap and one side with a medium-short nap.

You will really get excellent results with either towel. I like the longer nap towels for removing polish residue, and I like the shorter nap towels for removing wax residue. But either one works for either job.

To quote one well-known vendor, "You can never have too many microfiber towels." I say, amen to that! I never want to be in the position of having dropped my last towel. I'm only about 200 towels away from that point.

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

The Ultimate Wipes were sold individually as well as the 20-pack. There are a few places that sell a very similar towel, but you won't get it at the price point of that 20-pack (especially the Katrina auction price!). The similar towels are different colors, but generally speaking, the Ultimate Wipe was of fairly unusual construction.

Yep, I have 3 unopened packs so I am good for a while. I have not seen them from any other vendors in white. I like the idea that alot of Meg's stuff is white. I find it easier to look at it and tell whether or not it has been through to much use to be used of the finish any longer. Even the yellow color Meg's puts out makes it easier. Some vendors go for darker colors. I shy away from that when possible.

For microfiber, I have only used the ultimate wipes... I just never had a reason to try any other! Guess I am breaking down and buying some supreme shine microfibers.
