  • How often can/should I apply Polish

I recently just did a complete detail on my wife's mustang, from claying, swirl removal to polishing and waxing.
I have two coats of NXT wax on and was curious as to how often can one apply a pure polish and can it go over the wax or only be done after the wax has been removed? Of course after applying the polish I would follow by another coat or two of wax.
Also, I see many people wait 24 hours before applying a second coat of wax, what is the benefit in that?
Can't you just apply a second coat after removiing the first?

Here are some pictures of the 'stang:

    Thanks,

    Hi Russell,

I'm not sure about applying a polish over NXT...But I know that it's OK to use a pure polish as many times as you like.

The reason it's best to wait a while to add a 2nd coat of NXT, is because the 1st coat needs time to cure...About 12 to 24 hrs.

I dug up a thread on using a pure polish:

      Thanks for your reply RB.
The link you provided was a very interesting read. I may actually go through the summer just using the polish unless someone else says it can be used over the wax without losing and of it's effectiveness.

        Thanks Russell,

        I agree...It is a very interesting read.

When I first started using Meguiar's products back in '89, the guys in the store told me that they knew of people who used nothing else but #7 on their cars.
