ColorX is a great product, espeacialy because it is so versatile.

If your finish is in good shape, ColorX can be worked in gently, with something like a sponge applicator.

If you need to remove some light marks, oxidation, it can be worked in more agressively with an Even Coat Applicator, or a piece of terry cloth.

If you are going to be wating 2 months between waxing, I would definately consider using a cleaner and polish, or ColorX before the Nxt wax. May as well make sure the finish is quite clean in my opinion, so you dont drag anything across the surface.

Yep, more easily seen on the darker colors. But, through the little bit of experience I have gained over the last few months on about 20 different vehicles, I seem to be able to do a much better job now of eyeing differences out.

Usually there a 4 different vehicles in my driveway that I keep up on. Each gets done totally different. This lets me experiment with different LSPs, glazes, QDs, etc. No 2 are done similar. I even do some at different intervals. Then, I have friend's that come over and they do their rides with my input. SoI get the benefit of using their cars as test beds to a degree as well. Fortunately I see their cars every week to 2 weeks and they won't even wash them unless they come to my house.

I guess I am pretty lucky in that I get to lay my hands on a variety of vehicles on a regular basis. Probably about as aften as some of the Pros who do the same vehicle every wash day.

I think some of my friend's are a little scared to touch their vehicles now unless I am around. I kinda warn them. "Look we're gonna take this thing down to the clearcoat. Get all scratches possible out of it and bring it back up and make it look better than the day you bought it and also better than any car on your block. "BUT" please do nothing with it unless I am around until you have done it with me first. Because if you do, you are on your own."

Usually once they go through the wash step with me they kinda realize I have a decent grasp on things. Then it kind of sinks in with them that "Hey, this guys is going out of his way, spending his money and taking his time to detail my car. "AND" he is willing to show me how to do it along the way." So they tend to be pretty cautious until they have a firm grasp on things. I steer them to the MOL Forum as well.

Oh, BTW. regarding your Dew observation. I have seen it both ways. Unsure as to why. I have started QDing and usually start with the hood. By the time I got the rest of the vehicle done, I had dew starting to settle on the hood. But, I have also seen, as you have where the Dew did not seem to like settling on the Qded parts. Hard to say what's gong on there. Be nice to have a handle on it. Figure out how to have and keep a Dew free car. Just wishfulthinking there. it would be nnice though
