  • Winter Wash Gloves

    Folks,
Winter is rolling in and I am looking into a good pair or 2 of gloves for winter washing. In the past I have used some elbow length Electricians Rubber gloves with good results but they have seen better times.

I was wondering what others were using these days. I'd like to find a good pair of rubber gloves, elbow length, or slightly longer. with cuffs large enough to pull over a coat sleeve.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

I found these at an online aquarium store....

Innovative Aqua Gloves are ideal for handling anemones, coral, live rock and any other sensitive aquatic life. These gloves are made from the finest PVC material and prevent allergic reactions and contamination. The fiber-reinforced sleeves are full-arm length and keep your arms completely dry, avoiding any possibility of skin contact with the water and its inhabitants.

Right now they're priced at $13.99 at That Fish Place-That Pet Place.

I need a pair of those myself!

            I wear ice skates too.

only kidding... I keep ice melt on hand just incase I have a driveway icing issue. I wash my truck in the garage but it still gets cold in there and the gloves suggested would really be a help!

              Yes,

Look good R.B. Not sure if they will fit over a winter coat sleeve or not. Will bookmark them and keep looking though. Great length. Probably work just great over a couple of sweatshirts or similar.

Not that big of a deal below the Mason-Dixon Line, although it might get colder up Jeff's way than it does here.

The worst cold weather I ever saw down here was back in 1977. The temps stayed below freezing for at least a month. It was so cold that ponds & lakes started to freeze over.

Thankfully, you don't see that kind of cold weather down here very often.

I've bought aquarium supplies from this place a few times before. They have been pretty good people to deal with for me.....No problems on returns so far.

They are located in PA, and they also have a walk-in store there too.

My main concern isn't so much my hands getting cold. I can always run hot water out of the bathtub faucet to wash with. My main concern is keeping my clothes dry enough so that after washing I don't have to run in and chnage into dry clothes simply because I have wet sleeves.

I don't plan to do too much on below 32 degrees F days. But even in temps close to that it can make one miserable with damp clothes on.

A rain suit helps alot but everytime I lift my arm, water runs into my sleeve.

Yo Jeff, you have some serious issues homey!! I guess you are car crazy.

Throw on your rain suit that you use when washing in the rain and throw those gloves suggested by Rusty on over them.

Be sure to post a pic!
