I have Micky Thompson Classic 2 rims on my 2001 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW, THEY ARE ALWAYS GETTING OXIDATION/RUST ON THEM. THEY ARE A POLISHED ALUMINUM RIM. CAN I WET SAND THESE RIMS OR NOT. ALSO IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I CAN USE TO REMOVE THIS. I HAVE USED A ROTOZIP ON THEM AND IT TAKES AWAY THE OXIDATION FOR A SHORT TIME THEN IT MAJICALLY RETURNS. PLEASE HELP ME. I HAVE USED MOTHERS, AND MANY EXPENSIVE CLEANING SUPPLIES BUT NOTHING WORKS.

Hi Chavez1975,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online!
If after polishing them with metal polishing products, you are able to get the surface smooth and shiny, then I don't thing wet-sanding would benefit the surface, it would just scratch an already smooth surface.
I have to wonder what the environment is like where you live to make the aluminum oxidize so quickly? I've owned a lot of polished aluminum in my life and while polished, uncoated aluminum will oxidize when exposed to the environment, it usually takes months of doing nothing to deteriorate to an appreciable level. (At least in rainy Oregon).
The first thing you could try would be our NXT All Metal Polish.
Not only is this a great polish for restoring brilliance to polished metals but it also contains an anti-corrosive agent to help slow the deterioration process down.
