Well, swirl marks are very fine scrathces in the paint. So you will need something abrasive to remove them. Working by hand, this would mean using ScratchX. Be sure to read the How-To Section of the forum for removing scratches and using ScratchX.

DC#2 is a pure polish, that is it has no abrasives. DC#1 is a chemical cleaner, so it has no abrasives either.

If you use 2 polishes, your car wont explode... but there is no real point to it either. Some people will use a pure polish after using a cleaner/polish, but using 2 pure polishes together wont do much.

Hey thanks for all your help. #2 paint cleaner of the crystal clear system states that it removes swirls, is that right?

Either will work fine, and I like both of them.

Just from personal experience, DC2 polish won't remove swirls, but it helps make them less noticeable. Swirls are very fine scratches, and you will need something like Scratch X or Color X, by hand, to remove those. A good polish would make them less noticeable though. Meguiar's has several good polishes, and I like #5 and DC2. Imo, #5 is a little easier to apply and remove than #7, but #7 is a good polish.

If it were me, I would then follow the polish of your choice with #26 or DC3. Just my .02. I like Meguiar's carnauba based waxes.

Meguiar's has some quality towels. I use their Supreme Shine Microfibers and the Ultra Plush Super Terry. I prefer the terry towels for product removal, and the microfibers for final buffing. As long as you keep these towels free of debris, there shouldn't be any problems. Just don't drop them on the ground.

Imo, the terry's are a better all around towel. The microfibers are like magnets because if you get debris in the towel, it can be difficult to remove it. I don't have that problem with the Super Terry's, plus they are very soft.

Supreme SHine Mf's and the Ultimate Wipes are both good microfiber towles to use. Some people like to use the terry towels to remove cleaners/polishes, then use a MF for wax. Using thin coats, and not overapplying, I find I can use the Supreme Shine for all 3 steps.

Both the foam and the Even coat are good applicators. One thing to note, the Even Coat Applicator will make a cleaner product more agessive, so this can be helpfull for removing swirls.

Have you felt the Meguiars Plush Terrys in a store? THey are soft in my opinion, but it is all personal preferance.

                    Mura,

Here is a thread with some pics of the DISO, or "dealer installed swirl option" as it is known. Basicaly means the dealer made the car look like ****...

Meguiar's Super Terry is the best terry towel that I have ever used. I was skeptical too. I order some a couple of weeks ago and used them along with the Meguiar's microfiber. Head to head comparison.

The Terry towel is very soft. Softer than a bath towel. It appeared to be very gentle on the finish. The terry was more plush than the microfiber. Personally, I have never had a problem with swirls/scratches from a clean, quality, terry towel.

I have tried a lot of different brands of microfibers, and I like Meguiar's Super Terry better than all of them. With that said, Meguiar's microfibers are some of the best that I have used too. It's just a matter of personal preference.

Either way, I don't believe that you will have a problem with swirls. From personal experience, most swirls usually occur during washing and drying more so than polishing and waxing by hand.

Try both towels like I did, and then decide which you prefer. Meguiar's towels are top notch in my book.

I love the Water Magnet for drying... Get yourself 2 or 3... You could probably use 1 and wring it out to keep it dry, but I just buy a couple extra and dont screw around. Also, have some older terrys or MF's for doorjambs, etc that could be a little dirty or get snagged. Dont snag your good Water Magnets.
