  • Return cablefree buffer, buy a professional one

Like i discussed in an old topic, I bought the meguiars cablefree buffer in germany a few weeks ago. It served his purpose but I was not happy with the battery and so on, so I can return it to meguiars germany. So I`m at the same place as 4 weeks ago: Which machine do I need? Which should I buy?

I contacted my german supplier but the meguiars dual action buffer is not available in germany - bad thing. I got a recommandation from him:

I think I read a short positive comment here in forum about this product, but I dont know if its suitable for a newbie like me in machinepolishing!?

    What I need:
    - a newbie friendly machine, suitable also for professionals
    - a easy to use machine with low risk of damaging the paint
    - want to use it with soft polishes/cleaners like DC Step 1+2 but if neccesary also with stronger ones like the cut cleaner etc

I´m planning with my company in the future also professional detailing, so the machine should be ready for it (for sure, I must learn to use it first! *g*)

Like you can see in the link, this machine is expensive so I dont know what to do or if there are compareable other products...

So again: WOULD BE GLAD TO GET SOME HELP!

    Hi TuningFreak,

There are some options/work-around to getting the dual action polisher into your hands and making it work right. I'm in meeting's for the rest of the day but I'm sure there are some threads that discuss this on our forum.

There are a couple other polishers people use and I am not to sure whats around where you are...

Here on MOL I have seen some use a Dewalt or a Makita

Here is a good thread on a Dewalt version:Dewalt polisher post

Also do a search on Makita there are tons of posts that members mention useing a Makita that operates very similar to the G-100/PC

My problem is, that I dont understand everything special written about the different kinds of polishers here in the megs forum.

I checked my supplier in germany and he offered me TWO kinds of machines, one for polishing and one for removing holograms. Is this right? Do I always need 2 machines to do all jobs on a car surface? I ever thought a "one4all" machine is available and it only depends on the different kinds of pads and polishs!?!

        Again my "wishes":
        - removing fine scratches (e.g. from washing or drying)
        - remove holograms (maybe I have a wrong idea what this is exactly)
        - bring a perfect shine to the surface with regular paint cleaners and polishs (DC) and waxes (I think wax is better used by hand, am I right?)
        - Everything must be save in use (or depends on the adjust of the machine) but suitable for "(semi)-professional use"

For sure, at this time I´m miles away from a professional - but everybody is starting at one point! ;-) I wont do any "extreme makeover" with really deep scratches and bad surface defects but I will start to make cars look pretty nice like a new car, remove light scratches, swirls (dealer installed ones), holograms (maybe someone can tell me the differences if I mix the words! lol).

Maybe I have a complete wrong idea of the work to do, but I will learn about it. So I´m very sorry for my noobish questions and word! ,-)

        Thank you all in advance!
