  • Where does #81 fit in?

Hey, I just bought 83 and 80 for first time. After 80 am I ready for for wax or do I use 81?? Sometimes I get lost in the numbers.

    Thanks.

Somewhat unfortunately, the numbers dont really go in order.

If you were to use each step in order, they would go from more abrasive to milld:

    1. #83 - Medium Cleaner/ Polish
    2. #80 - Milder Cleaner / Polish
    3. #82 - Very Mild Cleaner Polish
    4. #81 - Pure Polish
    5. Wax

Now, you dont have to use all 5 of those steps. Most people will only do #80, then straight to wax. Some will do #80, followed by #81, or another pure polish like #7, etc. That is up to you, and what gives you the best results for your time.

Just a suggestion here, but if you're pressed for time while doing a full detail then I would suggest just polishing the top surfaces with #81 instead of applying it to the whole car.

I've found myself in that predicament before......Course you might be quicker than me too.

Hope I wasn't too off topic here.

Thanks!! I think I will use 81 for "special" occassions. When I want to blow people away.
