  • Waxing in the sun?

I know that we should do any type of vehicle paint claying, polishing, waxing, etc., when the vehicle is in the shade and has a cool surface.

I heard that when the paint surface is too hot, the products you're using (polish, wax) can dry too fast. This can cause the product, especially wax, to be very hard to remove.

    1. Can products cause paint damage to occur when the surface you're working on, is too hot?

    2. Also, most of the time, my car is in the sun and I have no shade. This time of year, it is sunny and the high temperatures are in the low 80's. The car's surface, in the sun, is warm, but not hot like the summertime.

Since I have to take care of this car before winter, how do I know when the sun is too strong, or when the surface temperature is too hot, to work on the car's paint surface?

    Thanks in advance!

Rule of thumb is the paint surface is to hot to the touch do not detail your vehicle in the sun.

Anytime you have to work on a car in the sun one tip we can offer is to shrink the size of your work area down

Another tip would be to try to borrow some shade, perhaps there's a tall building nearby that cast a shadow in the right direction to provide you with shade.

Maybe someday invest in a EZ-Up canopy?
