  • Saturated Pads

I did a full detail of my car with 83, 80 and NXt liquid using the G-100a. Each product had its own pad.

I put an "x" on the pad for each 2x2 section I did. By the time I had done one panel, the pad was saturated with product. It was so saturated that if I squeeze the pad, product would seep out. Is their a point where I should stop using an "x"? Is a saturated pad not going to work as well?

you are wasting products and might be compromising the results. You do the "x-line" thing only once-to prime the pad. Thereafter only a nickel size dab or two per panel. Add product as you go along taking notice of the uniformity of the thickness/thiness/eveness of the product.

ps. remember that you need to work in #83 and #80 ( or anything with abrasive) up to the point that it is almost transparent but not dry. WIth waxes, you just need a thin uniform layer, except with cleaner waxes, where you may benefit a little by working it in.

Sure is !....don't know if the "nickel" technique was actually ever said before but I'm sure it was.....I've used the "X" technique as well and have also noticed the saturated pad...learning something new everyday!...that's the key to this..

        Thanks for the tip !!!

ahhh.. ok I was actually seeing diminishing results using too much product but I stuck with it because thats what I have been reading in some threads

thanks for the knowledge... use the "x" the prime the pad only

Whne I first used my PC several years ago I had the same problem... Cutting back to the nickel size works well!

I like to fill in the dry areas of the pad after the initail "X" is worked in. For this I just use little drops of product in the dry areas.
