  • Meguiar's Dressings?

Guys whats the difference in these three Dressings that Meguairs sells. I know one is silicon free and the hyper is a concertrate. I am looking to find out which one has the most shine.

    d-17001 Hyper Dressing
    d-16101 All Season Dressing
d-16001 Silicone Free Dressing ( isn't this the best for tires?)

It seems like the silicone is the cheapest at 22.99 a gallon and then it goes all the way up to 33.99 for the hyperdressing. Is it really necessary to have 3 choices?

Each dressing is formulated for a different purpose, a different market and to give people choice, not every business is looking for a one size fits all type product.

Read through the information on this link,

I use #40 on all trim, tires, interior etc.
The hyper dressing will have more of a shine than the 40 if mixed with less water, but I love the way 40 looks. I dont use the silicone free (dont work ata body shop so its not an issue for me) and have for some reason dont use all season.

        Hi 00GREENMACHINE,

        Keep in mind the following,

        1) Many people prefer a water based dressing like Hyper Dressing for a few reasons.

        - You can dilute it up to 4:1, and when diluted properly it becomes $7.50 per gallon to use. Many people enjoy this product because it works great inside and outside. It is a great multi purpose dressing.

        2) Many people prefer a solvent based dressing like All Season Shine

        - Most solvent based dressings are more water resistant then water based. This means they are great for exterior applications. However, most people do not use a solvent based on the interior, and we also recommend NOT using it on the engine.

        3) A silicone sensitive environment must use a paintable dressing like Silicone Free Dressing.

So.... the answer is... depending on your needs and wishes, 1 might do the job, or all 3 may be needed ?

As far as shine goes, Hyper @ 2:1 is pretty shiny, and of course, All Season is always shiny...

So for us, it is a must to offer all 3.

I am really looking for something I can use on tires, under fender wells and on the engine. I normally dont use any interior dressing except wiping it down with interior QD.

It looks like Hyper Dressing is the winner in my book.
I could probably go 4:1 for the under carriage and engine and 2:1 for tires and exterior trim. I have been using some of the Accent Dressing aerosol can and I really like it for my grill up front..

I think you on the right track...

            Hyper Dressing...

            Interior 4:1
            Engine / Wheel Wells 2:1 or 3:1
            Tires 2:1

these are pretty good guidelines to follow, but keep in mind, you can adjust to make yourself as well as your customers happy !!!

Out of the 3 which would last the longest on tires?
