Which Polish/Wax - 07 or 81/26 or Sovereign

Hi,

Fairly new to all of the products and i do not own a D/A Polisher, i am after a pure polish that i can apply by hand and a very good wax that can be applied after. My car is an Audi A6 Quattro, it is 6 years old and has just been totally detailed by a good friend who does own a D/A, he used 83 and 80 followed by a wax called Sovereign (which i understand is made by Pinnacle ?). Could you tell me if the show room glaze (7) would be a better choice than the hand polish (81), i do not need any kind of cleaner just a pure polish, and which wax is the best (even if it is not Megs), cheers.

M81 Hand Polish tends to be a little easier to apply and remove than the M07 Show Car Glaze. Both are pure polishes with no cleaners in them.

As for a wax, if you like the look of Souveran, then pick up a bottle of M26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax. This is an as good as or better, (in my opinion), pure wax that will only set you back about $12.00 instead of $70.00

I can tell you from experience that I enjoy the results of the #7 pure polish from Meguiar's and as you, I do apply it by hand as well. I have not tried the #81 but you can see the results of the #7 polish followed by #26 in the shots of my truck below and it was all done by hand. I am anxious to get my hands on some #21 and try that out..hehehehe Hope this helps some and others will be along soon to advise as well.

I used a similar combo on Audis- #5 or #3 topped with Souveran, for quite a while.

For the Audi my choices would be #5/#3 (works fine by hand)/#81 in that order. No huge preference between the last two, just more familiar with #3, especially on Audis. #5 is about as user-friendly as such products get and looks nice.

My vote is for #81... Gives a really nice look and very easy to use. #26 is a good product I have used it many times and have never been disappointed.

I think the #26 will outlast the Pinnacle Souveran too. The #26 is a blended wax with some polymers in it too. But it still has that carnauba look at the same time.

I used to use the #26 and it was quite durable. I switched over to MPPP when it became available.

hey hudson -- i must tell you i do not use nor have a d/a polisher -- yet -- but i've been practicing with #6 cleaner wax #7 show car glaze nxt tech wax -- applied and polished by hand -- and the results have been good -- i'm always getting compliments on my finish -- recently i tried #6 #7 #21 -- it took me a couple of days to see it -- i can be very critical -- but when i finally noticed -- wheww -- good luck --

I have ordered the 81 today and have noticed that i do still have a full tin of a wax called ''Blitz Wax'', which i understand is made by an American company, i have not used it a great deal but will put the 81 on and then some of the wax. I will then purchase the 26 when i start to run low. I am very envious of the wealth of equipment that you have access to over the ''pond'', we have a very poor choice here in the Uk compared.

Keep the Blitz off of any black plastic/rubber trim

It's good stuff other than the trim staining. Like any other LSP, apply it thin, excess wax is wasted wax.

Oh, and for some reason I thought that One Grand (makers of Blitz) were a British company

You are fortunate that you are confronted with good choices and good conditions. Your paint is probably in good condition from the recent work.

You may wish to use a mild cleanser (only if needed) prior to your next detail. The glaze is the step that in my experience brings a wetter look to the paint. Personally I like this, especially with a carnuba wax following. Choose the one that will be best suited for your mode of application. I use a d/a and like #7 and Menzerna Final Touch.

I have used both the Pinnacle Souveran and # 26. I like both and you cannot go wrong with either. #26 is more durable and seems slicker even after a wash or two. Pinnacle Souveran is so easy to apply (it should be, you will need to apply it more often) and a breeze to remove with far less residue. Both give a deeper, rather than a shiny finish. The Pinnacle price will take your breath away, but if your paint is in good condition you will enjoy the results. #26 is an exceptional value. Good choices both-good luck deciding.
