  • Clarifying the NXT wax process

I am confused on the best way to apply NXT wax after using #83 and #80 . I have been reading many threads all with slightly different techniques. I am not sure which is the best way to apply and remove NXT wax using the following in my arsenal:

    G-100a DA polisher
    WDVA99 3-Set 6.5" pad (2 polish and 1 finishing pad)
    GC MF Bonnet
    NXT Paste Wax
    NXT Liquid wax

With what I have, what is the best for applying the NXT wax? removing the NXT wax? and which wax should I use? I dont mind applying by hand if thats the best.

    Thanks for the clarification

Nxt can be applied with a DA, and both paste and liquid can be applied with DA as well. And by hand of course too.

I think the liquids are a little easier with a DA of course.

Just use the finishing pad on a low setting, to apply the wax. Let it haze. Then you can use the bonnet over a clean pad (7006 works great as a backing pad for bonnets) to remove. Use a supreme shine or Ultimate wipe for a wipe down after.

    Hope that helps...

That does help... How much of the liquid NXT wax should I put on the 9006 pad? Is it an 'X' like I do with #83 and #80?

Yes, you dont want the pad to be dry, but you are going to focus on spreading more than with the #80's, so it should go further.

just wanted to add ....that i prefer to use paste on DA since you can add exactly the right amount of past compared to liquid....and in my opinion you will get more wax application then liquid....but again its a preference ...in my opnion apply Nxt(your choice) with a DA and use the polishing pad to apply it (remember to let it dry)then use the mf bonnet to remove your wax that will give you the best results in my opinion then do a slowwwwyyy final wipe with a clean mf towel(ultimate wipes)

also you can either do the x across the pad or a circle around the edges it all up to you....

Is applying the NXT liquid by Hand better or worse than applying with a DA? or is it the same?

I will be using the Swipe Test this weekend so it dries enough to be wiped of with my bonnet on the DA

Do you apply the NXT by hand directly to the car then you use the DA with 9006 pad to work it in? Not sure what you mean by applying with DA then apply by pad

              Thanks for all the suggestions

its more of a preference by either apply a wax by hand or using the machine...but imho since you have the Da might as well use it plus i think its better to apply by machine, also get better coverage and you wont use as much of wax compared to by hand plus it wont get tired like you hand will..lol.....

Since you stated you wanted to use Nxt liquid wax apply the liquid wax on to the polishing pad and you have two ways on making an X pattern or a circle"O" around the edge....make sure not to turn on the machine until you firmly apply pressure to the vehicle..

Incidently, if you like Nxt Liquid applied by DA, you might really like the #21 Wax. It can be bought in a more economical size, and is roughly the same formula.

You can produce better results by machine versus by hand. We prove this every Saturday Detailing class in front of around 30 people.
