  • NXT Insane Tire Shine or Hyper Dressing?

I have been a user of Meguiar's High Endurance Tire Dressing and have loved the product ever since. However, I recently purchased NXT Insane Tire Shine and after I discovered the amount of gloss and shine that it provides (I prefer the high gloss) I am now more curious on how HYPER DRESSING compares to the NXT Insane Tire Shine. I prefer to be cost effective and since Hyper Dressing can be mixed to different ratios, I am thinking of purchasing it. My only question is: Does Hyper Dressing provide the same, similiar or higher gloss than NXT INSANE TIRE SHINE? Hope to hear your comments on the two. Thanks.

Obviously there are pros and cons to each product.

If you have any type of volume business then the insane shine gets kind of pricey. But the ease of use and great results almost made up the cost, for me anyway.

Hyper dressing will give a great shine on the tires. Hyper dressing yields a different kind of look for the tires. I've found insane shine to leave a thin film whereas the Hyper dressing leaves a shiny sidewall without the film. I use the mid dilution (can't remember what it's called). After washing I apply Hyper dressing to the tires let dwell several minutes then reapply and let dwell. No applicator use.

If volume isn't a concern then the insane shine is great since it is easy to apply and can last a couple of washes. When I say washes I mean just a soap and water wash. Not the typical wheel and tire cleaning service.

It really depends on your need for the product. At one time I was trying to reduce the amount of products I was hauling to each job. So I went with a one dressing fits all system. Hyper dressing was my choice. Tires, wheel wells, engine, and interior.

    Good luck.

Thanks Scrub for the input. I appreciate your reviews and tips.

I personally don't mind the cost of INSANE TIRE SHINE for my car. But when I do customer's cars, I do think about the overall cost in the long run. And you brought up a good point on how HYPER DRESSING can be used throughout the entire car such as dash and trim, but is it true it does not provide UV protection? I love the gallon size of #40 Vinyl and Rubber, nice shine, mild cleaners, and dressing the interior last weeks under the Florida sun. But do to afternoon rainshowers here in Florida, I am concerned about the durability of HYPER DRESSING on tires and outside trim. Does it hold, because #40 and Endurance Tire Shine last through a few hard down pours, but by week's end, I need to reapply. I am hoping INSANE TIRE SHINE will hold out longer. I'm expecting a forecast of 5 days of rain throughout the week. I will repost by weeks end, but in the mean time, after 2 days and one rain shower, the tires are still as shiny as when I first put them on.

      Thanks again.

I see your cost comparo and raise you the "UV" protection. I have been trying to find info about how well each dressing will protect from UV damage. This seems pretty tight lip info. Check out this thread. Which protectant has the most sunscreen?

After reading this Meguiar's states "...all Meguiar's protectant contain the appropriate amount of UV blockers for the surface they are intended to protect."

I guess this is about the most warm fuzzy info I can find. I trust Meguiar's word on UV protection.

As for durability on the exterior... This is why I didn't really like to dress exterior trim, it will just wash away and make my work look shoddy. Client's want the neglect fixed not covered up. There are limits though. Anyway I believe you'll find very few products that can withstand the elements for a long period of time. Especially water based.

        Good luck and great discussion.

I own Endurance it is a favorite... can't wait to use this one. I also own Hot Shine, but haven't used it. Last I have Nxt Insane shine and really like this stuff.

I would think a can of Insane Shine can do a lot of customers. It says it can do 50 tires which means small tires. In other words, you should be able to do 12 cars, but you can at least count on doing maybe 8.
