Yeah I do have an idea, try using a brush to agitate the break dust.

If that doesn't work, you will have to determine if you have clear coat or metal and buy the appropriate stronger Meguiar's Cleaner.

However, you cannot make a mistake or you will cause damage. I.E. you cannot use the one for metal on the clear coat or you will damage the wheel and vice versa.

I would suggest you retry Hot Rims and a brush.

      Hi WhiteCamaro....

Well i give you my opinion you take what works for you it may be the same as "Jbirk" response.....

the first thing is to determine what type of rims are this for example powdercoated, painted, clearcoated, polished, chromed and there is a mix between those....

first determine what the wheels are if you dont know i would take them to someone who has expertise for example a rim shop either can tell you or ask them to refer you to someone who does chroming or high polish....remember ask more then one person opinion to find out if this is true or if they are factory rims you can go to the dealers and they will be the best answer...

now if you dont go that step you can always buy "all purpose wheel cleaner" im not 100% if that the name for meguiars rim product but definitely go with that only since it must be mild cleaner not to damage the rim and follow the directions if that doesnt work call meguiars customer Rx 800# and they will ask you ?? to determine which product is best but remember again you must know what your wheel is.....

For example i have a wheel that was clear coated on the lips of the wheel now what happens is that it didnt give enough gloss/shine so i opted to go with the high polish so that entails to buff/remove the clear coat"remember clear coat protect"so it can produce a high gloss which it did but the downfall is it must be maintained more compared to a clear coat....but with time even with maintaining it it will lose it gloss and i will need to send it in to get it high polished again(so it looks dull and brake dust embeded itself...

If its a factory alloy wheel, and wheel cleaners like #36 aren't touching it, then I use Meguairs super degreaser (4:1) and some nice wheel brushes. I like the gold glass spoke and wheel face brushes so much, they jumped from my personal use to on board with my detailing supplies!

          Hi White Camaro,

You need one of these: -

It's an all plastic/nylon brush which attaches to your hose so you can brush, wash and rinse all at the same time

That's exactly what it is Ranger, used with an oil or solvent bath in industry, and almost indestructable, the beuty is that the water flows down the centre of the brush thereby ensuring the brush is both clean and being cleaned all the time so no scratching the wheels eh

Also you do not need a lot of pressure, I just turn the tap or faucet (sp) a quarter of a turn!

Oh one thing I nearly forgot to mention.........my son has run over mine twice in his car and it's still as new
