After you apply it wipe off the excess with an old cloth or towel to prevent any sling, the gel can get caught in the grooves/lettering of the sidewall. Good product you will like it.Brandon

I have used both and I don't think they will do anything to the paint... I use the cleaner during a wash so I wash any over spray off with soap and water.Originally posted by LT22

As for Insane Shine, this would wipe off with no damage. I would guess Meguiars would formulate them as not to damage a painted surface, as many people will end up with over spray somewhere it is not suppose to be. It will stain concrete as the can states.
