  • Where to purchase clay bar?

I went to a detail day with ClubRSX and Socal300zx.com and I never did get the chance to purcahse products that day because I had to leave early!

I wanted to purchase the clay-bar alone, would that be possible? or will I need to purcahse the whole kit for 10 dollars.

Also, is local pickup available since I virtually live in Irvine?

    Thanks
    Jon

The clay bar alone from the profesional line will cost you about $22. You will still need some sort of quick detailer in order to use it. Why it cost more? because it has almost the double of clay than a quick clay kit.
For me the quick clay kit is the best value for the money because it includes a quick detailer and a clay bar. You only need to use about a trird or a quarter of the bar and save the rest for later or in case you ended up dropping it.
You should be able to pick up a quick clay kit in Irvine at Irvine City Auto parts (14427 Culver Dr. Irvine; (949) 551-5588) for $12.
Life is a journey, enjoy the ride!

The clay bar in the Quik Clay Detailing System kit isn't sold separately. Price wise, some other vendors charge about the same price for the same size clay bar without the lube spray. In a sense it's almost like getting Quik Detailer for free.

Haven't been to many car parts stores around here lately (I'm in OC too) but I would think some keep the Quik Clay Detailing System on the shelf. You might check the usual suspects, Pep Boys, Autozone, Kragen, etc.

If you want clay alone you can pick up the larger C2000 pro clay at a local PBE store.

There are lots of PBE stores in the area. The dealer locator can tell you where to look close to home. If it's not in stock the PBE store can usually get anything you want in a day or two.

No will-calls at the Irvine corporate office. They're not set up for distribution. I guess that would be a little like knocking on the door of the White House and asking for your IRS refund check.

Thanks mike. I already have some quick detailer (actually a whole bottle) and I wanted to pick up the clay seperately. I will definately stop by this shop because it's only about 5 minutes from my house 8) even closer.

I've checked autozone, kragen, pepboys, and autobacs, and they only carry either the meguiars kit or mothers.

As for the discount... maybe its time to setup another detail day 8)

Ask and ye shall receive. Clear your schedule for Oct 15.

The signup thread hasn't been put up yet but Mike mentioned it over on the Autopia day thread.

I'll put up the sign-up thread tomorrow, it looks like some of the folks on the Autopia sign-up thread will be moving over so you may be able to attend the Autopia detailing class. Although the sign-up list goes to 30, we'll open it up to 35.

Here's the schedule for a typical class on Saturday... (Hint: Look on the Online Calendar)

                      Hi Jon,

I'm going to move your thread out of the Meguiar's FAQ forum and you'll now find it in the Detailing 101 forum.
