    Thank you,

I do feel better about where I stand at the moment now.

For now I will continue doing what I'm doing.

The Benz was going to be my daily driver, but now I am considering keeping my 2000 Bimmer that has 125k miles on it as the daily.

But since that car and my other cars have been neglected, the thought of claying, then trying to use Scratch X or Color X by hand, followed by DC#2 and NXT Tech Wax is seeming like too much work.

But I do not want to do work that is a waste of time, like waxing a vehicle before it is properly cleaned and restored.

Maybe I should just go ahead and get the DA and related products and not worry so much. I worried before starting my Benz by hand using the consumer line of products. But the advice to take baby steps and try an area at a time was a helpful idea.

The first time I put some DC#1 on my car, I went a little too far before wiping off. Learned my lesson the hard way. Much easier to do it right away.

When it comes to justifying the expense of the polisher, you might consider how little it really costs in relation to other vehicle-related expenses. And compared to paying somebody else to do it, it's quite a bargain.

Having the right equipment makes it a *lot* easier to give a vehicle the care it needs and deserves. You'll quickly forget how much the polisher cost, trust me (man I hate it when people say that ).

And yeah, since you waxed it recently there's no truly pressing need to redo it now. Life is short.

My polisher has paid for itself 3 times over now! And I have yet to use it on my own cars!

As for the time it takes, when you use a polisher and get into it you'll forget about how long you spent doing it especially when you stand there and stare at it like a nut for an hour!!

It's super easy to use one and you'll figure out what it takes to get a job done in no time flat. And you would be the first that I have read on this forum that did any damage with the polisher.

I detailed cars by hand for about 12 years and I can tell you that after machine polishing I'll never do another by hand.Okay that's not true as I waxed another car by hand recently just to do it!

I also recommend using clay. What your friend and yourself can't see are the small particles that sit on the paint. Just try it for giggles and see what comes off the paint, you'll be suprised! I've had clay come off the car absolutely brown after a good washing and that was just the first pass.

No one said it was easy! If it was people wouldn't pay people like myself and a lot of others here to do it for them! I just think that if you give the polisher a try you'll absolutely love and it use it more than you think. I originally bought mine to do our cars as I was not able to spend all day on the cars since my daughter was born last year. Now I'm using it as a small second income!

        Okay now I'm just babbling!

Go to the show off section and look towards the bottom for the BMW 325xi that I did and you'll see what can happen in a year to the paint and how easy it it to remedy the situation with a polisher. Almost forgot, disregard the part about the scratches as I used a rotary buffer to remove most of those on the door only.

        I'll shut up now!
