How does MPPC compare to DC#1? How does MPPP compare to NXT? If those are bad comparisons, what do these products compare to? I am thinking of purchasing these products from the eBay store but don't know much about them, your help will be greatly appreciated

MPPC is a stronger cleaner than DC #1, and I think it has diminishing abrasives in it too.....It's a great all around cleaner that works well by hand or DA.

MPPP used to be my go to product before NXT came out......As a matter of fact, MPPP sold for about $25.00!

And it has anti-static properties to it that will help to keep dust off the finish, as well as imparting a nice warm look.

I'm sorry to see these two products discontinued.....They served me well over the years.

      Me, too...

Medallion Paint Cleaner is HEAVY on chemical. It's the BEST for cleaning from the body trim down (tar especially). If your paint is pretty oxidized, and consequently holding a lot of dirt on its' surface, you'll appreciate the cleaning power. I have nothing negative to say about this product. I bought 29 bottles of it on eBay. I sold a ton of it at the West Coast Nats, too. Customers were almost angry to see it was discontinued... Luckily I had enough to handle them.

Medallion Paint Protection is long lasting. Personally, I think it'll take NXT in a durability shootout. It has a lot of darkening capability, too.

I bought 30 bottles via eBay if that tells you anything! At the price they're selling it for, you'd be crazy not to try it!

For me the only downside to MPPP relative to NXT is that NXT is a lot easier to work with. Both go on easily, NXT comes of a LOT easier.

Otherwise MPPP lasts a long time and has a great look.

For me, the only questions are: If I have NXT and #21 on the shelf, will I ever reach for the MPPP? Nope.

And: If I run out of NXT and #21, would I use up the MPPP before getting more NXT or #21? Well, maybe.

What is the replacement equivalent for MPPC, and what would be the next step in agressiveness after MPPC?

None that I know of, but ScratchX and #2 Fine Cut Cleaner are pretty close in terms of cleaning power.

That would be #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish.

I would say either #83 or maybe even the reformulated #2 which I have not tried yet but have heard good reports about it.

You can do a lot of good swirl and scratch removal if you use MPPC with the G-100. And it is easier to work with than #83 when using the G-100. But some swirls the MPPC can't remove can be removed with #83. MPPC is good for removing bird dropping etch marks.

The only downside to MPPP is that it takes forever to dry in cold weather. It is easy to use in hot humid weather though. It is more anti-static than NXT, but NXT gives a little bit better look.

True that, and tree sap, and bug juice.

Be sure to use it in a well ventilated area, and rubber gloves might be a good idea too. Have a fan blowing. The fumes are something else. MPPC will definitely not pass VOC regulations.

It's the best paint cleaner I've ever used. It's like, potent and mild at the same time or something.

Your description is right on target. The solvent content can be helpful. I remember once in the winter when I was trying to clay the paint to remove some tar and road sealant. It was really too cold to use clay, but I didn't realize it until it was too late. I got out the MPPC and it took the clay smudges and the tar right off with no problem. It saved the day for me!

It always took a long time to dry for me after a full detail in humid weather.

But it dried fairly quickly if I applied it by itself.....Like a second coat the next day or something.

I read in an earlier post that MPPC is good at removing bird dropping etchings and was wondering if it is also good at removing water spot etchings. The whole trunk lid of my car is covered with hard water spot etchings that were caused by an errant sprinkler Other than those etchings, there are some swirl marks on the hood that claying and using nxt haven't removed. I know nxt isn't a paint cleaner but wow it worked wonders on the other lighter swirls around the car! Other than the trunklid and the hood it looks so nice. I'll post some pics soon, i drive a gunmetal grey 89 camry with original paint.

It's good at removing a variety of paint defects, including water spot etchings.

What's the best way to apply the MPPC by hand? Should i massage it into the paint like scratchx and wait for it to go almost clear or should i just apply it and rub it off when its wet? I'm really excited to get the MPPC from ebay for such a great price and benefitting such a great cause.

A DA polisher is going to give you the best results, but it can be applied by hand too.

It has to be worked into the paint to be effective, but don't buff it dry. I've been able to buff (With a DA) this product for a good minute or two before stopping to remove it.

Right off hand, I can't remember if it buffs clear or not, but I'm sure it will lighten up in color some after it breaks down....It also starts to dust some at the end, as well as having a bit of a tacky feel to it.
