Those could very well be just scratches/nicks in the hood. My wife's hood has a ton of pits in it. They look like pin holes and some are short scratches that look very similar to yours. I would take a pic but the camera always focuses on the reflection rather than the defect!
I wet sanded with 2000 and then 3000 grit paper and then used a rotary with #84 & W7006,#83 & W8006, and then #80 & W8006 and it appears that I had no success in removing them or even making them less noticable.It's going to need cleared again but it's a lease and that's their problem when they get it back!
Between the gravel pits in the area, salt trucks, and the ten million trees we have I can't win with paint on horizontal surfaces!
