Ok I'll try that Jbirk, maybe that's it, but I normally wash all my clothes with regular tide before washing the car wash stuff to eliminate that chance of remaining fabric softener or bleach and detergent residue that my mom uses. maybe I'll try that also tuning freak.

Hi, this may sounds strange to you guys, but why wash the water magnet?

I only use it on a freshly washed car, so my water magnet never gets dirty...
(I only use it on painted surfaces.)

            Hey,

Unless one has made sure that he/she has washed the surface 100%, there is a possibility of little dirt remaining, albeit, a small chance. I usually wash mine after about 10 carwashes for peace of mind rather than because it looks dirty. Tiny particles may get trapped that would otherwise go unnoticed. Better safe than sorry.

But as some members mentioned, cleaning the washing machine may be a good practice before washing any of our specialized towels.

My drying towels get washed after every single use just for piece of mind, as leaving them draped over my PW to dry means the next time I need them they'll be covered in dust that I can't see that will potentially marr my finish.

I wash them with regular laundry detergent on a 40 degree cycle as I find this helps retain their softness. I let them air dry, but if I need them quickly I'll put them in the dryer but don't find they come out any softer.

If they become less absorbent I stick them on a 95 degree wash which sorts the problem. I also once boiled a MF for 10 minutes (seen in the Adam's car care videos) but that didn't seem to do much.
