  • cleaner wax question

    Hi i have a question.

What does cleaner wax actually do? Does it clean wax or is it a wax? Is it ok if i use the cleaner wax first then use NXT wax afterwards?

    Thanks in advance

In the 5-step paint care system, you steps are:

    Wash
    Clay
    Clean
    Polish
    Wax

A cleaner wax (at least Meguiars ones), will replace the clean, polish, and wax steps with one step, the cleaner wax.

On my car, I use ColorX followed by Nxt, though the A-12 followed by Nxt will also work. It is not a bad way to cut out a step or two on a daily driver, etc.

Keep in mind, that 3 separate steps will provide better results than a one step product, but all 3 of Meguiars cleaner waxes are great one steps.

The A12 (the consumer cleaner wax) is very mild, and the wax beads water like crazy.
ColorX has diminishing abrasives, so it can remove swirls, and is also a great polish and long lasting wax.
#6(I think thats the right #), is the stongest, but also more formulated for use with the PC, though ColorX works well with a PC also.

It cleans the paint AND adds wax... Yes you can use it prior to NXT.
