  • Hey 2hotford, found out about hood

    Hey Tim,

Took car today to a very good bodyshop. After looking at it putting some diamond cut on it and feeling it he said I had Solvent Pop.

The solution is to repaint. Whoever painted the hood did not let the base dry before putting on the CC. BOZO'S

Since the car has 100K miles I do not think it is worth it.
Will stay in the forum very informative!

    Well thanks for everything .

    Hey Kelly,

Yeah...solvent pop does look like pinhead dots in the paint. And, it does come from an improper paint application.

The good news is that you can continue to detail the rest of your car to its highest level. If in the future you wish to paint it, that could always be an option!

Thanks for letting me know what the body shop said. As I said, I wish I could have helped more, but it is difficult without seeing the paint in person.

Thanks Tim!! It would help if I had a more upto date computer. I run Windows 95!!

BTW the body guy gave a thumbs up to the rest of the car!
I had just DC#2 and Nxt pasted it. Plus the wheels and Hot Shined the tires. It does look good. Till all the acorns fall on it.

Had a thought to call a salvage yard for a hood. And then take a look at it.

I have learned alot and will hang around.
