  • Car cover or not??

I am curious to know if I should keep my classic muscle car under cover or not? And if so, what kind of car cover should I use? I just recently clayed, polished and used NXT paste wax. Does it make sense to use a cover in the garage...or should I let the paint breathe? Thanks.

    Hi oldschl,

Keeping your car covered will prevent dust from accumulating on it while it's not in use and that can be real helpful as when you want to taker her out simply remove the cover and she'll be ready to go.

I know a lot of my friends with nice cars also opt for a couple soft flannel bed sheets on the horizontal surfaces which will do the same thing plus you can always through them in the washing machine to clean them which you typically cannot do with a car cover. (Remember the dust is still accumulating).

As far as paint breathing, read this...

Paint Needs to Breathe (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3704) Words mean things, just ask any Lawyer. Floating around on the Internet, and discussed for decades among car enthusiasts is the myth that paint needs to breathe. Or is it a myth? It depends on how literal you read into the words.
