  • new strange horror story...

ok ok so uhhh this person i know has this red camaro that has a few dings and scratchs here and there.... so this guy goes up to her and says he can fix it all for her for $150.... so shes like cool.... here comes the scary part... for the minor dents... he does it to oldskool body shop style and drills a bunch of holes into the car and uses the dent pulling hammer to pull them out... well now they arent dented in anymore but dented out... and theres a bunch of holes in the car.... hes still not done yet.... for the scratchs he uses...... BRAKE FLUID!!!.... yup... brake fluid.... k so he takes the brake fluid and rubs it into the scratch.... well the scratch is sure less noticable.... but uhhh the paint looks a little worn now.... lol.... little i mean like horribly.... k so now theres holes and big faded spots on the paint..... well at least she didnt pay the guy the $150....

          WTF ????

To be honest this is why Im so paranoid, cause there are real world examples of how crappy people do crappy work.

Sorry I will go to a shop and talk to some employees and customers to get some idea of how that particular business operates and how satisfied their customers are.... before I even think about bringing my car in for ANYTHING

              Sounds made up to me.

I mean break fluid in scratches? Never heard that before. Wouldn't wax help just as much?

ur not suppose to use any logic to see wat this guy is thinking.... this guy probably just seen some average joe mechanic repair cars and decided it looks easy and that he can do it to.... no clue y he choose brake fluid for the scratches

Well, I believe it is possible someone without the expertise may claim to have it and make an attempt. Like you said, "I can fix it" when they can't.

                    It is common.

For instance, there are Detailers who will say, "I can fix those swirls, and then they pull out some archaic abrasive and a rotary with the wrong pad and instill new ones."

                    Everything has to do with:
                    Knowlege
                    Training

In other words, if you attend a good detailing class and understand what you are learning, then go out and practice what you learned, you will get it right and and very quickly master the art of polishing. I am assumign the classes have practice painted surfaces...

Anyway, people learn in different ways and lecture and practice are both needed to learn any skill.

"Hello mam, i can make that dent dissapear"

                      "Really?"

                      "Yup"

                      "Ok, do it"

                      *throws a brick at car*

"See, cant notice that little dent no more"

"I can also fix those foggy headlights" lmao

Doesn't brake fluid remove paint? Well, I suppose that's one way to remove scratches, just remove the paint too!

I accidently spilled a drop on my first car years ago, and yes, it does remove the paint.

Or at least it dulls it down quite a bit.
